Boconnoc House - July Wedding

Nadia and Alistair were like many of my couples in that I don’t always get an opportunity to meet them face-to-face before the wedding. This is often down to busy work schedules and a number of my couples choosing Cornwall as a destination wedding. However, we have in-depth phone consultations and work with colour boards to ensure that seasonality and desire sit hand in hand!

When Nadia contacted me I’ll be honest I’d not realised that she was a top international model and whilst chatting to her on the phone, having seen a photo of her trying on her wedding dress, I suggested she could be a model….oh dear…we did laugh!!! As the conversation unfolded I also learnt that her bridesmaids were also professional models - this is all very exciting and not every day your flowers get the catwalk treatment!

Therefore I’d like to thank Nadia and Alistair for allowing me to share these images with you.

Nadia & Alistair married in mid July 2019 at the beautiful Boconnoc House, a venue which is only a few fields away from my own garden! Nadia and Alistair were a super couple to work with and completely embraced using seasonal flowers from my garden. We worked with a soft toned colour palette and plenty of creamy whites as Nadia’s bridesmaids were wearing fabulous red dresses!

All these wonderful images were captured by Nick Walker whom I’ve worked with on a number of weddings now and would highly recommend to any couple seeking a photographer.

The Bridal Party Flowers

Nadia’s bouquet was filled with seasonal flowers from my garden. Rose’s featured heavily with added texture from things like Larkspur and Phlox. The bouquet was finished with plant dyed silk ribbon by Lancaster & Cornish.

The Ceremony

In the warm summer sunshine Nadia and Alistair married in the beautiful Dorothy Gardens. I created two growing arrangements that climbed up each side of the sweet arbour. These wonderful stones vessels are available for wedding installations and work perfectly outside on the floor.

The Reception in the Garden Room

Nadia and I discussed keeping the tables simple and using a soft colour palette that would blend well in the Garden Room at Boconnoc. With round tables we used my bespoke commissioned Leach pottery bowls with wild, seasonal blooms that spilled over and created beautiful movement. On each place setting were sprigs of either fresh rosemary or seed heads picked from the garden.

Nadia and Alistair had a wonderful old sash window hand written for their table plan and I dressed the corner with a small floral installation.
